Bred is a free, closed-source text editor for Windows with a relatively small set of features. It is positioned as a more perfect and convenient replacement of the standard editor Notepad and WordPad, part of the operating systems of the Microsoft Windows family.

Work with OEM (MsDos,866) texts as such or with transcoding. KOI8 support without recoding (especially for HTML design).
Unlimited amount of text (for comparison, the limit of Notepad-64K).

Like its predecessor Bred 2, which became very popular in Russia, Bred 3 is a multi-functional text editor - a substitute for the standard Windows Notepad. Now working with Bred is available to all Windows users without exception. The list of features of the new Bred 3 includes support for the most common Cyrillic encodings (ANSI, KOI8, OEM, Unicode) with the ability to instantly convert text from one encoding to another, plugin support, syntax highlighting, and more. By the release of the final version, it is planned to significantly expand the list of available functions, including those proposed by users of the program.
