In EmacsFamily editors, it is often necessary to use control keys to move around and do things.

In addition, emacs adds key sequences that include control keys:

The C-X prefix is often used in emacs. For example, saving a file is C-X C-S. If you do enough emacs, you'll want to move the control key to the home row because it always seems like you are holding it down.
