Many text editors have the ability to interface effectively with a source control system. There is a standard that MicroSoft? promoted called SCC that has been used successfully by some systems as a generic interface to version control systems. Microsoft's own VisualStudio has SCC support. So do a few others.

Other TextEditors simply provide MacroLanguage support for integrating source control either into the CommandLine or into the MenuingSystem?.
