I'm software developer, love to learn about new computer languages and regular user of text editor(s), of course. I was using many text editors, especially [[SpeedScript]], [[Capek]] and [[Cizek]] on 8-bit Atari (yes, these programs are on edge between regular text editors and very simple word processors). Then I switched to DOS and used [[EDIT]], Turbo/Borland Pascal IDE, Turbo C IDE, [[RHIDE]], [[NEDIT]], text editor integrated into Norton Commander, Volkov Commander, Dos Navigator, [[QEdit]], [[JED]] and [[E.Com]] (most of them are based on the famous [[WordStar]] keymap. I've also modified [[E.Com]] editor to use different text mode and to use different keystrokes. Then began the quite long way to Linux and [[VIM]], [[Elvis]] and [[JOE]]. If I remember correctly, the first [[VIM]] version I used was 3.? on both DOS and Linux. Sometimes I need to work on Window machine with [[Notepad]] (of course!) and [[VIM]], previously I used [[TheGun]] (similar to [[E.Com]] in philosophy - tiny minimalistic editors) Looking into my .vimrc it seems I have been using VIM for more than 15 years. --- Pavel - I saw that you added [SpeedScript]], [[Capek]] and [[Cizek]]. I learned something new and I thank you for posting! RonPerrella
