One of the biggest issues with the DecFamily of TextEditors is that it is dependent on the Dec Lk201 layout. Especially the TPU TextEditor. In the default KeyLayout?, it requires keys such as "DO", "SELECT", "INSERT HERE", and "HELP".

The IbmEditorFamily tends to use a lot of FunctionKeys as well as AltOrMetaKeys. At one time, this limited portability -- today, it is common to have a KeyboardLayout that includes AltOrMetaKeys.

The ViLayout, WordStarDiamond or EmacsLayout? are more portable.
